Situated in the Southeastern side of Wyoming, along the Eastern rim of the Powder River Basin, the Buck Creek Field was discovered in the late 1970's and was very recently acquired by JP Oil in December, 2008. The field is capable of producing approximately 115 BOPD when all wells are producing. There are currently 5 producing wells and 3 wells shut-in that plan to be reactivated in the near future. Production is from the Dakota and Leo Formations which are similar to the wells that JP Oil operates 10 miles away in Lance Creek. Plans are to evaluate production operations and make improvements were feasible to reduce operating costs.
